Transaction – Change Product Status
Introduction
Product Status represents whether a product is ‘Dine in‘ or ‘Take away‘. Change Product Status feature is used to directly change the status of a product within the cart screen of the app. This section introduces how to use the change product status feature. The demonstration below is done using BIG POS Pro, however the procedure for using the feature is the same as in the other apps.
Info regarding to Change Product Status
- This feature can be used on BIG POS Pro, BIG POS Lite and BIG Waiter.
- Even if 1 status of the cart does not contain any item, the status column would still appear within the cart screen. In other words, both ‘Dine in‘ and ‘Take away‘ status columns will appear all the time. The column acts an a separator between where to change a product status.
- Only legit products can be dragged, illegitimate items such as ‘Product discount label‘ cannot be dragged.
- If the user enables takeaway charge as in Branch option, dragging a product to the other status may affect the subtotal of the cart. (Increases if dine in changed to take away without having any take away product prior to change, decreases if take away changed to dine in for charge per item, also decreases if the only take away item changed to dine in for charge per bill, no change if dine in changed to take away with at least 1 product(s) already in take away status for charge per bill)
- Products cannot be dragged while in the cart section after using Split Order feature.
- Products also cannot be dragged while in the payment screen in BIG POS Pro.
- If printer is enabled as in Printer option and order within the cart has already been sent, changing a product status will trigger the printer to print a change status receipt of the product.
How to Change Product Status?
- To use the Change Product Status feature, proceed to have an order in the cart as shown in the example of Make Transaction section.
- Hold the product in question and drag it to the other status.
- While in the other status, release the dragging to change the product status.
- In the example above where take away charge per item is enabled, notice the subtotal increases when dine in status of Apple is changed to take away because a new take away charge is added.
- In this new example, notice the subtotal decreases as there is now 1 less take away charge incurred to the cart.
- The example below demonstrates how the feature can be used to quickly change multiple products status.
